Hawaii lawmakers have halted additional funding for the ongoing modernization of the state's tax system following a slew of complaints from taxpayers about the new IT system.

Gov. David Ige had asked the Legislature for $18 million in additional funding to move ahead with the tax system modernization project, but lawmakers refused his request, according to a Honolulu Star-Advertiser report.
